Align With Me

Today I was praying over the requests that many of you had sent in on Instagram, along with my personal prayer list and when I finished, I just sat for a little bit to listen. As I sat in silence, these words rang loudly in my mind: "align with me."
And this is the word I felt like the Lord was impressing upon me to share with you. He is a God who answers prayers. He hears our every cry and He comes to our rescue. Personally, my heart's cry has been that every single person would know that God hears them and that He cares so deeply about every detail of your life. My heart has cried out asking God to move in the lives of people who feel like God doesn't hear them or doesn't care about their needs or desires. My prayer has been that there would be a renewed, personal revelation of who God is and how much He cares for us. I truly believe we are in a season where God is going to open the floodgates of Heaven and rain down on us. He is going to answer prayers that we have been praying for a long time, He is going to surprise us and, to us, unexpectedly answer prayers quickly and suddenly. I truly believe we are on the brink of an open Heaven and it is time to align, or in some cases, realign ourselves with Him.
I want to encourage you with the word God spoke today. Align with Him! It is time to prepare for your miracle, prepare for God to answer your prayers. After I heard the words "align with me" I was immediately reminded of a passage in Lamentations that I want to share with you.
Lamentations 3:24-42 (MSG)

his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.
They’re created new every morning.
    How great your faithfulness!
I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).
    He’s all I’ve got left.

25-27 God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It’s a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It’s a good thing when you’re young
to stick it out through the hard times.

28-30 When life is heavy and hard to take,
go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:
    Wait for hope to appear.
Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The “worst” is never the worst.

31-33 Why? Because the Master won’t ever
walk out and fail to return.
If he works severely, he also works tenderly.
His stockpiles of loyal love are immense.
He takes no pleasure in making life hard,
in throwing roadblocks in the way:

34-36 Stomping down hard
    on luckless prisoners,
Refusing justice to victims
in the court of High God,
Tampering with evidence—
the Master does not approve of such things.

37-39 Who do you think “spoke and it happened”?
It’s the Master who gives such orders.
Doesn’t the High God speak everything,
good things and hard things alike, into being?
And why would anyone gifted with life
    complain when punished for sin?

40 Let’s take a good look at the way we’re living
and reorder our lives under God.

Sometimes when we are going through a hard season of life, or dealing with something that we've prayed for God to help us with for a long time and the answer hasn't come, it's easy to think God has walked out on us. I want to assure you, that is not the case. I love this passage because of the truth and hope it reminds us of. He is always with us, and while we may have times of suffering and trial, He proves to be faithful and good to us if we would just wait, diligently seek, quietly hope for help from God. How many times do we walk out on God because we don't seem to get an answer to our prayers or feel like He doesn't hear us or care? But He never walks out on us, even when we walk out on Him. When you've prayed for relief, help, or answers and nothing seems to change, wait for hope to appear. He has heard your prayers. Don't stop praying, but don't get discouraged in the waiting. He is moving and He is working. He doesn't delight in our suffering.

There is so much packed into this Scripture that is so good and so insightful but the verse that I thought of when this Scripture came to my mind was the last one: "Let's take a good look at the way we're living and reorder our lives under God."

God is calling us to come back into alignment with Him. I wonder if many of the things we're asking God to deliver us from, help us with or guide us in would be taken care of if we would simply align and reorder every part our life with Him again. Understand that I'm not minimizing our needs or saying that the reason we have certain needs is because we are living wrong. That's not at all what I'm trying to say. Everyone has struggles and situations where we need God to come through in one way or another and it's not always a consequence but sometimes just the effects of living in a fallen world. What I am trying to say is that this day in age, our priorities have gotten a bit out of whack, and God is calling us to take inventory, take a look at the way we are living and reorder our lives under Him again; align our lives, our hearts, our minds with Him. And I believe that when we do so, we will see many of our prayers answered and needs taken care of because we are living in true alignment with the only one who can give us what we truly need to overcome. We must position ourselves in such a way that we can receive what we need from the only one who can truly satisfy, heal, restore, provide, mend, awaken and bring the answer that we need.

Psalm 91 also comes to mind. Where we see this promise from God when we align ourselves with or dwell in Him:

Psalm 91 (MSG)

1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

So what are some practical ways we can align ourselves with and reorder our lives under God? It's so simple you just have to be committed. Be in the Word and be in Prayer. Through reading God's Word, He teaches us, guides us, and shows us how to live. It's all in there, instructions on how we as Believers are to live our lives. Through prayer, we are able to ask God to help us and He is able to speak to us and lead us and guide us by impressing something on our heart or putting something on our minds, or speaking a word to our hearts. Listen for Him, wait for Him, He will speak. He knows how to get your attention, He knows how to make sure you hear Him. Be attentive, expectant and aware. In addition, I just want to give you a a few very short prayers to help align your heart and mind with God. God wants to partner with us to bring His Kingdom to earth. God could do anything He wants to by speaking one word, but He chooses to use us, to partner with us so that we can see His power on display, grow closer to Him and understand His heart more and more. Maybe He wants to use you to bring an answer to someone else's prayer! May we seek to always be aligned with God so that we can experience Him in new and fresh ways and never miss out on an opportunity He has for us to partner with Him.

A few simple prayers you can pray are:

Change my heart

Make me more like you

Give me eyes to see things like you do

Break my heart for what breaks yours

Give me your desires

And when you pray those prayers, you can expect and you will begin to notice God moving and working in your life. You will notice your heart softening in places it was hard and calloused, you'll notice a desire to be more like Jesus, you'll see things differently, your heart will ache for things it didn't before, your desires will change or new desires will arise. And as you are aligned with Him, His will, and His desires, may His hand move over your life. I pray He will open up Heaven and answer your prayers. I pray you will be compelled to step out in faith, partner with Him and see Him use you in bringing an answer to someones prayer. May you desire to see Him move more and more in your every day.

As we reorder our lives, make Him number one, seek Him first and above all else, may His Kingdom come in and through our lives and may things be on earth as they are in Heaven.
