Did you know that freshwater pearls can take between 1 and 6 years to form and saltwater pearls may take between 5 and 20 years to form?! Can you imagine a pearl that took 20 years to form? How valuable! I can't help but think of life when I think about this. We live in a time where everyone wants everything now. Instant results, instant gratification, instant everything - and we need to realize that this mentality isn't realistic. Sure, in some ways we've found ways to short circuit the process in order to speed things up in certain situations to ensure that instant mentality is met, but there are some times in life when the process can't be avoided. When we embrace and allow the process to take place, the gift & the result from the elongated process is so valuable. What God does in you while you wait is just as important as what you're waiting for. Don't despise the waiting, for beautiful things take time.
